FASTER is the only national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving FilipinX Americans in Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math (STEAM). We are dedicated to diversity and inclusion, and aim to create safe spaces for our community by engaging with multiple stakeholders from education (academia, university students), professionals in the tech industry as entrepreneurs, investors, and employees, as well as government, and media.
Our organization does not live in the vacuum of the tech industry and cannot ignore the recent injustices committed against the Black/African American community, including George Floyd and the countless others. These issues are systemic and we must recognize the struggle and quest for social justice. We support #BlackLivesMatter as allies in the broader FilipinX American and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and stand in solidarity with them combating racial injustices and inequalities.
We urge you to take note of these recent events and encourage you all to stay healthy and safe during these times of unrest of COVID19. As an ally, we encourage you to donate to national long-standing non-profit organizations and additional funds for those greatly impacted at this time who are actively working against institutionalized racism.
